Wow, these are nice. This kinda is my first impression of the new SharePoint communication sites. I basically created such a site and added some (outdated) content from our current intranet. Just a simple department (corporate application services) with two teams (web solutions and business solutions).
In less then a half-hour I was able to create a simple structure, but with an amazing look and feel. I also added some metadata and views in the document library. This way, I could select which documents were shown on which page.
At the client I’m working for now, we are looking at Office 365 as a communications and collaboration platform. I was already pressing them to distinguish between these two fields of work, because the initial roadmap was to use SharePoint (classic) site-collections for all these functions. “One site to rule them all”, that sort of thing.
But with this out-of-the-box site-template, my work is nearly done. Every department will get a communications site for publications and one or more Office Groups (including Planner and Teams) to work together. Wow indeed…..
